I really hope it's not a busted ethernet port. My console is out of warranty and Sony has a pretty shitty and high fixed cost for all repairs over here so for me that's not an option You can make these changes in the PS4 Settings page by going to Network > Set Up Internet Connection > Use A LAN Cable > Custom > Automatic > Do Not Specify > Manual > Primary DNS > Secondary DNS. I really hope it's not a busted ethernet port. The primary and secondary DNS settings should be 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 respectively. Is there a chance there might be something wrong with the settings in my router? I've tried with 2 different cable (one of them is new), both of which work perfectly fine with my other devices. So please, before everyone starts saying the same: It's NOT the cable. I've looked it up online but the FAQs I've checked just say to use a cat5e and it should work but it doesn't. When I try setting up the connection via LAN cable it won't detect the cable. I googled the issue and it seems like I'm not the only one with the issue but I've yet to see someone post if there is a solution because 99% of the replies to everyone with the issue is "try another cable", "sounds like a faulty cable". Okay so I just bought a PS4 pro, and tried plugging in the LAN cable (cat5e). It's not that I'm getting a connection issue, it's that the console is asking me to "please connect a LAN cable to the system" when there already is one. Over the past few years I've been playing online via Wifi simply because my router was allways far away from my console.īut recently I moved into a new house and this time I made sure to set up my router right next to my TV/Consoles to finally be able to connect them with a wired connection.īut my Ps4 won't even recognise that there's a cable connected to it.
